This next post is hard to write. Courtney is a very special girl that has been forced to deal with tragedy in her young life. A few years ago I photographed the wedding of Courtney & Todd. Not nearly long enough after, Todd's life was tragically cut short.
In her grief, Courtney didn't know if she could fall in love again, but in a twist of fate she met Larry at a Valentine's Day party. Larry, as it was said by the minister at the wedding, taught her to feel again. Not only does he take care of her, he understands her grief, I couldn't think of a better way to love than that. To witness this wonderful union was so special to me. Throughout all of our lives we will love and lose, it is what makes life so delicate and fantastic. The memories that pictures hold are worth a thousand words, if not more, and I am so grateful to be a part of that.
Because of the specialness of this wedding, I decided to put both the engagements and wedding in one post. Here are the engagements, which took place on a beautiful, snowy day in January:
And now for their wonderful, love-filled wedding:
That bright light coming from her hand? Yup, that is her ring! Literally blinging!
The couple each had only one attendant but LOTS of flower girls and ringbearers, with nephews, nieces, and other close relatives filling the role. These kids were GREAT!
One of the most emotional, touching ceremonies I have ever seen. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
All the cool kids have Nintendo DS....
Recognize those pics? :) Courtney & Larry had me make a sign-in guestbook with their engagement pictures!
The mothers of the couple and one of Larry's sisters--such a sweet moment.
Courtney + Larry, you deserve all the happiness in the world, and I wish a long, healthy life together.
