Meet the Copeland Family

The Copelands are a truly amazing family that came to me at a special time in my life. In November, we lost both of my husband's parents to cancer in one week. One loss to cancer is tragic enough, but two was unfathomable. Soon after, I met the Copelands. Mark and Melinda have four children, two of which they adopted. Mark was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Everyday is a battle for them, but they are fighting hard.

My goal for this photo session was to provide this wonderful family with a small amount of time where the focus wasn't on their struggles, and give them some great family photos that they can cherish forever. What I never realized was how cathartic it would be for me in the process.
