Nick & Nicolette are very, very good friends of ours--Nick and my husband have known each other since they were kids. I was so happy to be able to shoot their beautiful wedding day for them. The ceremony was at St. John's Catholic Church (the traditional Croatian church that is having their festival this Saturday (everyone come!, a church steeped in tradition and beauty. Oh and it has this awesome overlook of the city. Nick comes from a long line of Croats and so it was like stepping back in time a bit, very cool--very vintage and the pictures very hard to narrow down. We dropped by their house a block from the church for a few. They, like us, have a very old house that they have been redoing and are so proud of. They also have a little daughter they made sure was properly represented in their union and the first dance! (come on it was her party too) It was sooo fun, and just like I would imagine a wedding would be like in the 1950s--warm and local, with everyone knowing each other, helping out and drinking! It made me proud to have my little piece of Strawberry Hill. Congrats Nick and Nic! thanks for keeping our little home so sweet! (oh and sorry this took so long!!!)
