Engagements, Engagements Everywhere!

Sometimes my wedding couples opt out of engagement photo sessions, and if all you want is to put an announcement in the Sunday paper then it is easier to just take a quick one of yourself or use something you already have. However, with all of the things we can do with engagement pictures these days you are really doing yourself a disservice to not take advantage of them. Engagements are great because we can really take time to focus on the couple and get fun and creative pictures without the pressure of the wedding.

I recently took two couples' engagement photos. Laura and Tim wanted to go to Waldo Pizza, a spot special to the couple, as well as the more typical spot Loose Park. They are going to use their pics in a sign in book for the wedding, so you will see a couple with my "Sign In" and "Sign Out" signs that go at the front and back of the book.

I've known Aaron and Angela for years. Angela is my husband's sister's husband's sister (can you wrap your head around that?) We took some studio shots and went to Kauffman Gardens and Liberty Memorial. They are going to have me design their save the date cards with some new card software I just got.

Beyond the sign in book and save the dates there are lots of things you can do with your engagements. I've had couples use them for their invitations, make a matted signing board for their guests to wish them well, put them on their wedding website, or make a slide show for their wedding day.

Congratulations Tim & Laura and Angela & Aaron (as well as Beth & Jordan whom I will be blogging soon)! Can't wait for your weddings!
